Well, North Carolina was known as progressive, until Republican Governor Pat McCrory started taking us all back to the dark ages.
Using typical backwoods, (redneck, if we aren’t going to be politically appropriate here), logic from the 1930’s, Governor Pat McCrory may be the newest candidate for Grand Dragon of the KKK.
Ruler of the Realm, Pat McCory, passed a bill entitled: “A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 2 AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR SINGLE-SEX MULTIPLE OCCUPANCY BATHROOM AND 3 CHANGING FACILITIES IN SCHOOLS AND PUBLIC AGENCIES AND TO CREATE 4 STATEWIDE CONSISTENCY IN REGULATION OF EMPLOYMENT AND PUBLIC 5 ACCOMMODATIONS”.
Governor McCory was able to pass this bill using people’s feelings of insecurity and vulnerability to overthrow a recent ordinance passed in the state’s largest city, Charlotte, that allowed transgender people to use their respective restroom.
The bill mandates that people use the restroom associated with the gender listed on their birth certificate.
Why is it important for transgender people to use a restroom of their respective gender?
If you are a transgender female, (male to female), and it’s late night at a bar, or worse yet, Waffle House, and walk into a men’s restroom to use the man parts you still have, you could either (A) be told you are in the wrong bathroom, or (B), be outed as transgender, and subject to discrimination, harassment, and the all too well known violent episodes that occur against the LGBT community.
Not only does the bill allow discrimination solely based on the bathroom epidemic, it also mandates that the good citizens of North Carolina can no longer sue an employer based on the act of discrimination.
§ 143-422.2 Specifically gave us all protection from discrimination against race, religion, color, and gender back in 1977.
True to the nature of most modern day Republicans, Pat McCrory acted in the interest of big business. But what does Big Business think of his decision?
Paypal, who McCrory just met with, plans to bring hundreds of jobs to the city that McCrory just snubbed, Charlotte.
Paypal responded to McCrory’s decision on March 23rd.
Inclusion is one of our core values and we are proud to champion LGBTQ equality in N. Carolina and around the world: https://t.co/40yYLCrqO1

American Airlines, who holds their second largest center in Charlotte, also responded:
“We believe no individual should be discriminated against because of gender identity or sexual orientation. Laws that allow such discrimination go against our fundamental belief of equality and are bad for the economies of the state in which they are enacted.” – American Airlines spokeswoman Katie Cody.
Governor McCory not only pulled a power move on the very people who elected him, he also chose to pass the bill, which also mandates that local municipalities can not raise minimum wage higher than the state’s mandated minimum wage of $7.25, something cities all across the progressive United States are doing to bring families out of the poverty epidemic.
The bill also mandates that cities can not pass their own laws controversial to the state laws.
This means that if it were illegal to sell oranges on the side of the road, Winston-Salem could not pass a law that allowed local farmers to do so.
This act, along with the obvious discrimination and backwoods thinking, may have just cost North Carolina, one of the United States top tier technology hubs, millions in Silicon Valley investment.
Silicon Valley investor Chris Sacca expressed his disdain for the Governor’s decision, and stated that he would no longer be investing much needed funding to our state:
Headed to NC in May to discuss how we could invest more in the state. Now the key words will be "could've invested." https://t.co/kTMLo3lB0U

So, in summary, Supreme Fearmongeror and Governor, Pat McCory, thinks that a transgender male, (female to male), who has had gender reassignment surgery, should now be able to share the bathroom with his wife.

Bet he didn’t see that coming.
Citizens of North Carolina, please vote this ignorant bigot out of office this election.
